The genesis of the name GRODY combines elements of his last name, Garrote, with his middle name, Cody—a blend that embodies his unique musical style and personal history.

From a young age, GRODY was inspired by his mother's extensive collection of "Now" CDs and top dance hits, which sparked his love for music. This early exposure to diverse sounds helped shape his eclectic musical taste and drove his passion for DJing.

GRODY's journey into the world of music began at high school parties, where he would create party mixes burned onto CDs, fueling the festivities and feeding his passion for DJing. Raised in a lively, party-loving household, it was only natural for him to embrace this culture. In 2011, he embarked on his DJ career, spinning tracks in his parents' backyard, known as "The Hutt," honing his skills in an intimate and supportive environment.

A highlight of GRODY’s career came in 2019 when he embarked on a U.S. tour with artist ANTH, showcasing his versatility across major venues in New York, Chicago, California, Washington, D.C., Philadelphia, and even extending his influence internationally to Canada and the Philippines.
